Green Street Hooligans
Cert 18 109 mins
by
Shitu Miah

Green Street is a film that is about football hooligans. The hooligans are based on a West Ham firm that have fights with other football team firms. The film is about a guy that joins the West Ham firm and then the firm finds out that he is a journalist. The firm hate journalists because they say that they lie in the articles and that they make their firm sound rubbish. Firm is all about power and who has got a bigger firm.

I think this is an awesome film because I like football films that have a meaning behind them. The meaning of this film was the

honour of supporting the team. The West Ham firm slogan is "stand your ground".

Never Back Down

Cert 15 110 mins

By Imran Miah

I am writing a review about this movie called Never back down. The story is about a teenager who has a past that has made him angry at everything. He caused an accident that led to his father's death.

He later moved into a town where everyone has a sport of playing UFC (mixed martial arts), he  was challenged by a man that plays UFC and beat him. So after he trains with a professional UFC fighter ,he beats the man that he fought before.
I believe that this movie was great because it showed many emotions that made the viewer want to watch more. The fight scenes were good and focused.

Toy Story

Cert U 81 mins

By Ryan Burns

Toys  have a life of their own when we're not looking, and they form a hierarchical community where the most-played-with are the natural leaders. In this case Woody is the leader because he is the boy's favourite. But everything changes when Andy’s birthday come along and one of his presents is a Buzz Lightyear he then becomes Andy’s favourite toy and Woody doesn’t like it. Buzz complicates things  further by conviction that he is a real space ranger, and not a battery operated plaything.

With Hanks playing Woody, Rickles playing Mr Potato Head, Potts playing Bo Peep, and Varney playing Slinky Dog it is bound to be an all round fun family film.

Gaming is common amongst us hard-working students and that’s fair enough. But most games out there are just mediocre at best. Well, no more will you have to endure the pains of boring games!

Need for Speed
Review by - Mohammed Hussain

I actually think that the new Need For Speed games are not as good as the old ones. They are too complicated , it's all legal and not that exciting anymore.

In the old ones there is a lot of fun such as illegal racing, police chases and much more. I think from my point of view that Need For Speed: Carbon is the best game I’ve ever played from this series of games, it’s basically much better and much more fun and exciting.

FIFA 10
Review by - Mohammed Ali

The new FIFA 10 is absolutely amazing and very realistic, with the new advanced AI on the defending making it harder for attackers to get through. Also the best technology so far which is the all 360° dribbling which gives the person on the ball the ability to move in all directions to get past his man. Plus now with new online features.

Grand Theft Auto IV - The Ballad of Gay Tony

for Xbox360
Review by - Adal Nabeel

This game is jam packed with all the adventure you could always want, it contains all the action and all the cars which you have seen in the previouse editions. However the game is rated 18 so you can buy it from the shop... but it is a great game and has great Multiplayer functions.

!!WARNING!! this game is not for the soft hearted !!WARNING!!

Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2
Review by - Ashley Millward

Modern Warfare 2 created by Infinity Ward has just been released -on the 10th November, having bought and completed this game I now feel eligible to comment and review on the whole game.

Firstly this is a sequel to Call Of Duty 4 Modern Warfare and still has some of the original characters such as Captain Macmillan, and Soap the character you play as in Call Of Duty 4. Secondly the graphics are so immense and realistic you get every slight detail of the weapons, aircraft, vehicle and submarine. The satellite imagery in between missions actually looks like you are looking down on the earth as the government would.

The weapons that are used in this game are top of the range brand new weapons that are used by the United States Marine Core and the British Army.

In this game you are split into 2 teams the United States Rangers and Task force 141 these teams are the best of the best who specialise in certain areas for behind enemy lines and frontal warfare.
My over all conclusion of this game is that it is amazing and was well worth the2 year wait. My overall score out of 10 is 10/10

Up – The Saturdays

by Mehjubeen Akhtar

This single is a great pop/dance tune that will get everybody up and moving. This new girl group definitely know the meaning of pop and every girl out there would want to be just like them. They’re a great inspiration and this track has that catchy beat that really livens up the dance floor. It has that high quality techno and dance vibe to it which makes it a perfect party song.

At Oldham Sixth Form College the Student Association took a leading role in developing the Anti Bullying Policy. We’ve also run our ‘R U Bovvered?’ anti bullying campaign and you’ve probably got one of the R U Bovvered leaflets we gave out.

Watch the video and see how bullying affected these celebrities.

This is the Anti Bullying Policy used in college.

In this presentation it shows different types of bullying and college can help deal with it.

This document holds information on bullying prevention.

If you’ve got any comments on the Anti Bullying Policy or suggestions to improve it please let the Student Association or Mick Walsh (Vice Principal) know.”

First Name:

Dear Mick

Please enter the two words below:

Q: What procedure should I follow to complain about the music being played out loud in the common room to the detriment of all but those with the device? Some of the lyrics are often offensive and insulting.

Mick: Because it is a common room and a social room, I don't really think there is much we can do about it. There are other places that you can relax and socialise in. However, as the music can be offensive - I have experienced this myself- perhaps there should be a ban or maybe a radio channel played into the common room in order to keep everything played neutral- this may prevent phones being played on loudspeaker. In the next Student Assoiciation meeting I will bring this problem to their attention so that it can be discussed in further detail with senior members of staff.
